The ELocker electromechanical locking mechanism is the next generation of aftermarket differential technology. Electronically switchable differentials are designed for drivers who need extra traction.

It functions as a normal, open differential until you decide you need more traction. It is designed for all-wheel-drive systems, giving you the ability to lock or unlock the differentials whenever necessary. With a dashboard-mounted switch, you can change it from an open state to a 100% locked state with a single movement. Pressing the switch again will disable the system, and the differential will return to its normal, open state.

This long gear ratio version is only suitable for the Touareg 5.0 and Cayenne Turbo. The easiest way to identify it is by the half-shaft joint diameter being greater than 110 mm.
